Q-MACS MIR Source

The award-winning Q-MACS MIR Source is a brilliant and powerful radiation source in the middle infrared. Up to now light sources in this spectral range could be realized only by complex and sensitive external optics. Our compact and robust Q MACS MIR Source makes the progressive QCL technology accessible to the user. The system allows the synchronized operation of up to 8 lasers at different wavelengths with high spectral power density by maintaining a scalable optical bandwidth from <0.1 nm up to several µm. The configuration as a pulsed light source and in the quasi CW regime respectively ensures the robustness of the system even in long-term use. As an autarkic laser driver solution the Q-MACS MIR Source allows the easy integration into existing measurement systems and make their extension for the middle infrared spectral range possible in an efficient way.

The Q-MACS MIR Source supports manufacturer of optical components and their suppliers in the field of measurement and analytical technology, e.g. in the quality control. This solution makes possible the seamless integration of test technology for optical components and assemblies in the middle infrared, as a fast growing application field. As a point source with high power densities and very low wavelength uncertainties, the Q-MACS MIR Source is interesting in the automated determination of optical parameters, e.g. refractive indices. Moreover, our middle infrared light source eases the realization of systems for online monitoring during the adjustment of optical assemblies, e.g. lens centering. With its outstanding performance characteristics the Q-MACS MIR Source is an important link for the use of well-established monitoring technologies in production processes for components and assemblies in the middle infrared and thus, to exploit the existing scaling effects.
